Santander Internet Banking : Personal Details Update

Santander have informed us that over the coming weeks, users of their online banking service will be required to confirm or update their contact details.

“It is important to ensure that your details are kept up to date to enable us to contact you about important issues relating to your account or if we need to confirm that a transaction is genuine. We will not use these details to contact you about products and services that may be of interest to you unless you have previously requested that we do so.”
When you log in to Internet Banking your mobile phone number that they currently hold for you on their system will be displayed.  If the information is correct, simply select ‘Continue’ and proceed to ‘Your summary’ to continue banking online. If the details are incorrect or missing, then they would like you to update them before proceeding to ‘Your summary’.

“We recommend that you check your personal details on a regular basis and ensure that any changes to your details are reflected as soon as possible.”

One thing to always remember with online banking – you should never update any personal details until you have successfully logged in and they have confirmed that you are on the genuine Internet Banking site by displaying your unique image & phrase combination.

Banks will never send you an email that asks you to verify your security details or link to Internet Banking. If you receive an email claiming to be from Santander that you are suspicious about, please forward it to phishing@santander.co.uk.
