Problems with Alliance & Leicester’s Online Banking Service

Looks like Alliance & Leicester are again having issues with their online banking service, as we’ve had reports from numerous users of their site that they are unable to get past the Site check and Customer PIN screen.  Unfortunately their online helpline is only open to 11pm, and there’s no ‘service status’ page on their site to find out more info.  We were a bit surprised by this, given their claim on thier website:

Our award-winning internet banking is a secure and convenient service for you to manage your money, 24 hours a day.

We’ll post an update on the situation tomorrow.

Having spoken with the Alliance & Leicester this morning, we are still none the wiser as to what the issues were caused by.  They did state that maintenance work would be notified either in advance or on their website, but some work could be done without any notification. All seems to be ok now, though we’ll be keeping an eye on how their service fairs.  If you have any similar experiences, please let us know on here.
