Orange Credit Card App Now Available on the App Store for iPhone

Barclaycard and Orange today announced that the Orange Credit Card App is now available on the Apple App Store. The free app for the iPhone and iPod touch is cited as being a great tool to help users manage their finances – from tracking how much they are spending to paying bills to viewing transaction history and reward points.

Russell Taylor, VP of New Business & Online, Everything Everywhere, the company which runs Orange UK said:

“Orange contactless credit card customers want to take control of their account without compromising on convenience or flexibility. This new app not only delivers on this need, but also demonstrates the next step towards our vision for the future of mobile payments, where consumers will seamlessly make payments on the High Street from their mobile phones.”

Chris Wood, Managing Director of Enterprise Development at Barclaycard, said:

“Within the next few years all our UK customers will be able to use their mobile phones to make payments and keep track of their finances and spending. At Barclays we have made significant progress on providing mobile payment experiences to our customers and we now have more than 1.4 million people regularly using our mobile services. This move with Orange today is another step towards making it simpler for customers to manage their money on-the-go.”

The app gives you the latest information about your Orange Credit Card account – your balance, how many Rewards Points you’ve got, what you’ve spent and where, when and how to pay your bill and how to get in touch.  You can securely manage your account online too at www.orangecreditcard.co.uk.

Loads of extra features are planned for the app over the coming months, including offers unique to Orange Credit Card,  so watch out for updates in the App Store.

Finally two things to remember before you download:

  1. If you use the app outside the UK, roaming data charges will apply and so you need to be careful on how much you’re charged.
  2. The app will run on iPhone 3, 3G and 4, iPod touch and iPad.
