Nationwide Advises on Unofficial Device Apps

With the recent growth in portable device applications for smart phones and tablets, Nationwide have advised that it doesn’t support the use of any Nationwide branded ‘apps’ on any devices (apps generally run on Apple, Nokia, Google, Android and BlackBerry devices).

They are currently unaware of any unofficial apps that actually work with their Internet Bank so purchasing one could prove to be a waste of your money.

“We strongly advise against the use of any unsupported apps to access Internet Banking, using them means you could be at risk of having your sign-on information harvested for fraudulent use, leaving you vulnerable to unauthorised transactions on your account.”
