Barclays Mobile Banking Services Gets a Makeover

barclays_mobileWith mobile phones becoming more popular to access online banking, Barclays.mobi have taken a step forwards to make the experience simpler and more intuitive.

Mobile browsers have advanced enough over the past few years to easily display websites, and Barclays have kept at the forefront by ensuring users can access online banking information such as statements, account balances, transfers and payments, but in a way that fits easily onto mobile screens.

The key now is to ensure that the user experience keeps up with the ever improving realm of internet banking sites, and is able to offer the same level of services.

Sean Gilchrist, Barclays Digital Banking Director said:

 

“We are the only UK bank to offer a specific mobi domain site which gives customers the benefit of having web pages designed specifically for viewing on mobile phones. We have experienced phenomenal growth, more than a 100 per cent since the start of the year with customers browsing banking services through their mobile phones. With this increased consumer demand it’s important for Barclays to continually build on the strategy of improving the services for mobile banking customers.”

Gilchrist adds

“Perhaps with customers finding banking through low or high end mobile phones so much easier with the redesigned site we will see this way of banking catching up with online services as network speeds improve and data costs reduce.”

At the beginning of the year Barclays became the first UK bank to offer its mobile banking customers free Kaspersky mobile fraud protection as fraudsters become more sophisticated. It covers anti-virus, anti spam and anti theft protection.
